1998 Year in Review:
Kerry Getz, Rick McCrank and Brandon Turner join the éS team. Getz is synonymous with Love Park, McCrank is the greatest street skater to come out of the Vancouver, BC area in over a decade, and Turner is a cornerstone of the Shorty's empire that dominates the board market for over two years.
After producing a constant stream of photos and a banging part in Shorty's Fulfill the Dream, Chad Muska is thrust into the limelight of the skateboarding world. He earns TransWorld's Best Video Part of 1998, and, in the years to come, cements his spot among the elite.
A change in skateboarding footwear was approaching, and leading the way was the debut of Koston's second pro model shoe. With innovation already being synonymous with his skateboarding, the Koston 2 was the first skate shoe to include an EVA midsole cushion. Heel bruised fans rejoiced.
1998 also produces Ronnie Creager's first pro shoe, The Creager.
